Warning (1): This DIY project is insanely easy, cheap and well insane (just ask your bf/husband!). Warning (2): Do it only with a key you actually own (not from a rented appartment etc.) - not every landlord is a fan of glitter too!
Some days ago, while bowsing through pinterest (very, very bad!) I came across this project for a glitter key. When I tried to adopt it I did not find a way to gather the material - the girl did it with Elmer Glue and Martha Stewart's glitter. I had no chance to find any of them over here.
But I wanted to do it too, and here's my approach to a glitter key - let's bling up your keyring!
What you need: A key , glitter nail polish, nail polish top coat sealer - that's it!
Clean your key (I used some isopropanol) to get rid of grease and dirt. Then apply some coats of glitter nail polish to (the upper part of) the key. Let dry for an hour and apply some top coat sealer. Turn and do the same to the other side of the key (no polish on the edges or the glitter will easily fall/break off). Your done! Easy peasy!
Achtung: Dieses Selbermach-Projekt ist super einfach, günstig und total sinnfrei (zumindest wenn Ihr Mann/Freund fragt)! Ach ja - macht es besser nur mit einem Schlüssel der Euch auch wirklich gehört (also nicht den von der Mietwohnung), Euer Vermieter steht vielleicht nicht so sehr auf Glitzer :)
Vor ein paar Tagen war ich mal wieder auf Pinterest (sehr, sehr böse Seite!) unterwegs und mir fiel dieses Glitzer-Schlüssel-Projekt auf. Das wär dich mal was?! Dann wollte ich es nachmachen und stieß auf das erste Problem - das Mädel hat Elmer Glue und Glitter von Martha Stewart benutzt, beides hätte ich nur mit einem gewissen Aufwand hierher bekommen.
Aber dann hatte ich die rettende Idee - also los, wir machen einen glamurösen Schlüsselbund!
Ihr braucht: Einen Schlüssel, Glitzernagellack nach Wahl, Top Coat Sealer Lack
Zuerst den Schlüssel entfetten/reinigen - ich ahbe dazu Isopropanol benutzt. Dann den dickeren, oberen Teil des Schlüssels (also nicht den Bart - sonst könnt Ihr den Schlüssel später nicht mehr benutzen) mit mehreren Schichten Glitzerlack einpinseln, kurz antrocknen lassen. Dann mit Top Coat Sealer bepinseln und für mindestens 1 Stunde durchtrocknen lassen. Auf der anderen Seite genauso verfahren. Die Kanten des Schlüssels aussparen, Glitzer kann recht grobkörnig sein und würde dort leicht abblättern. Das ist schon alles - und das Ergebnis ist echt bling-bling, oder?!
