Bento #8

This Bento from the 2nd week of march, I just did not have the time to post it... In the upper compartment there's japanese rice with sesame seeds and a soy sauce (in the fish bottle), in the middle compartment tamagoyaki, carrot salad and deep fried tofu (middle compartment). And in the lower compartment there's fresh pineapple, grapes and mango. I used this box.

Bento #7

Some days ago we had mediterranean food for dinner and it also found its way into my bento box the next day. I had couscous (plain, upper compartment) with steamed squash, mini tomatoes and grilled halloumi (middle compartment). For dessert: Fresh kiwi and grapes (lower compartment).

Bento #6

This "hearty" Bento was my a little inspiration for Valentines's Day - I decided to use my egg molds for the first time and liked the look! In the upper box you can see mini bell peppers stuffed with goat cheese and sandwich pockets filled with cress and cream cheese. In the lower compartment there is the hearty egg topped with a piece of nori, blueberries, grapes and 2 pieces of cake roll (in the cup).

Bento #5

Here’s my belated (thanks to my sickness leave last week and this weeks enormeous work load) bento no. 5. In the lower compartment there are roasted chicken cubes with sriracha chili sauce (in the green cup) and beet root salad with lime vinaigrette and sesame topped with crumbled goat cheese. In the upper compartment you can see basmati rice and some lemon cake sticks and fresh pears for dessert. I should have used some other (colored) fruit too to make this compartment a bit more colorful, shouldn’t I?

Bento #4

Today's bento - it's the fourth week of my bento "experiment". And I think there's already a positive (aka healthy) influence on my eating habits. In the upper box there's rice and fresh carrot salad, in the middle there are chunks of a veggie spanish tortilla with parsley leaves and in the lower box fresh fruit (kiwi and apples).

Bento #3

Here my bento of the week. There are veggie stir fried noodles in one box, cherry tomatoes and yogurt in the other box. Yes there's a lack of protein - I wanted to add marinated tofu, but forgot to buy soy sauce.

Bento #2

My second bento that was worth to be pictured. Still no classic japanese one (my onigiris look quite not like they should), but at least there's an asian touch. There is veggie stir fry (bell pepper, carrots, corn and bok choi) topped with fresh rocket in the largest box. Then one small box with brown rice and some fresh fruit (kiwi) and cheese cake bites for dessert. Once again I used this box.

Bento #1

I finally dare to show you a bento I made. It's not a classic japanese obento with onigiri, tamygiyaki etc. but I think it looks okay and it was a complete lunch for me at the office. In the largest box I put grilled red bell pepper with some beef and tomato stuffing topped with cheese flowers. Then one small box with brown rice and another with fresh fruit (khakis and kiwi). I used this box. Let's see if I'll be able to post at least one bento per week...

Let The Bento Making Begin

It's here! I just got my first Bento Box - and I love it! I decided to join bento making community a while ago but most of the boxes were just not my cup of tea. Until I found this lovely one. The sleek and light golden box is the "Champagne Bento Box" of the Unit Colors Line. But as always - I also hat to feed my inner child and got some lovely mini sauce tins and cute food picks too.
I really recommend the CasaBento shop: Well organized, with tons of bento items from sleek and cool to funny and colorful. I got my stuff within a few days - great!

Inspiration - Bento Lunches

Not the type of inspiration you're used to on this blog :) I will neither be able to eat at the cafeteria at work or at home in the future. So I'm looking for inspirational pictures and recipes for not-too-childish (aka Hello Kitty and such) bento box lunches. Do you like bento lunches or maybe do them already? Or know some resources I should read? Tell me!

Immer her damit!
